Admissions Process

The Paracletus School seeks to identify students who will benefit from a Classical Christian-based education that provides individualized, systematic, and multi-modal instruction.

The Paracletus School is a beacon of hope for children with dyslexia and learning differences in Houston.

We are suitable for children with average to above-average cognitive abilities who have or are at risk of learning difficulties. We serve children, Kinder-7th grade- with oral language, reading, writing, and executive function that of organizational skills delay/disorder. Also, Junior Kindergarten 3 and 4 are for children at risk of a learning difference.

We believe that the combination of expert-led instruction, compassionate environment, and proven methodologies gives students the tools to overcome challenges that once seemed insurmountable.

When we invest in “the least of these” – the struggling reader, the anxious child who dreaded school – we unlock tremendous potential. It means ensuring that no child is written off due to a learning disorder, and that each child is nurtured to thrive according to their God-given talents.

Step 2: Apply Online

Complete Application Form, Submit application fee and submit/complete psychoeducational testing and comprehensive speech and language evaluation at the school. Schedule your session here.

(An educational consultation will take place to determine if the student is a pre-candidate for moving on to the next step. This includes a $150 consultation fee.)

Step 3: Educational Consultation & Virtual Screening

Next, families participate in a virtual screening consultation via Zoom. This informal session allows our team to interact with your child and gather preliminary insights into their learning, communication, and readiness.

This step allows us to determine whether your child is ready to move into the Educational Academic Heartbeat Assessment.

If continuation is not recommended, our team will provide compassionate, individualized program referrals.

Step 4: The Educational Heartbeat – Invitation-Only Formal Educational Academic Heartbeat Evaluation (Re/Matriculation)

Only students who successfully complete Steps 1–3 and are recommended by our Admissions Team are invited to Step 4.

This stage represents the formal evaluation of the admissions process and is referred to as Re/Matriculation, also known as The Educational Academic Heartbeat Evaluation.

The Educational Academic Heartbeat (Re/Matriculation) is our comprehensive, formal assessment that evaluates a child’s academic, linguistic, cognitive, and learning profile. This evaluation provides the essential data needed to determine a child’s readiness, ideal placement, and the supports required for success within our classical and therapeutic environment.

  • The $1,500 Educational Academic Heartbeat Evaluation (Re/Matriculation) fee is due at the time of scheduling.

  • Families receive a written summary and individualized recommendations once the formal evaluation is completed.

The results of the Educational Academic Heartbeat Evaluation directly inform the next stage of the admissions decision.

Step 5: Classroom Visit (During the School Year)

Students who proceed after the Educational Heartbeat will be scheduled for a one-day classroom visit during the regular school year (through mid-May).

During this visit, prospective students:

  • Participate in daily lessons and multisensory instruction
  • Engage with peers and teachers
  • Are observed by members of our Admissions & Clinical Team

For summer applicants, decisions are made based on testing and application materials.

Step 6: Admissions Decision

The Admissions Committee meets to determine the school’s ability to meet the child’s needs within our classical and therapy-rich environment.

A therapeutic Christian school dedicated to children with language-based learning disabilities such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADHD, and related challenges.
Litchfield Christian School has been such a beautiful blessing to our family. LCS is a Christ-centered school that challenges students academically, nurtures their creativity, promotes a positive learning environment, and contributes to their spiritual growth. LCS is very supportive, and they encourage their students and their families. Our daughter came into LCS completely broken and empty. Public school had taken a drastic toll on her mental health. She had pleaded with us for over a year to homeschool her. We were at a loss. Our daughter is a very social person, and we knew she needed more. We decided to check out LCS as an alternative. From the very moment we stepped inside LCS, we could see and feel the genuine love. EVERYONE felt as if they belonged. Before our day of observing was over, she had asked if she could please come to LCS. She was smiling and said this place is my kind of place. It's definitely been just that!

Today she is thriving, and she is truly enjoying herself. She loves to go to school, and she loves all of the teachers. She has made good friends and is blossoming in all areas of life. She's even started singing on stage during chapel. This has been the best decision we could have ever made as parents for our daughter. We are incredibly thankful for this opportunity in our hometown, and we truly appreciate that LCS offers grades K-12. How blessed we are to be a part of Litchfield Christian School. We look forward to many more amazing years here.
